A Search Engine Results Page, or SERP, is the list of websites that is displayed after you enter a search query on a search engine. The results are returned based on their relevance to the search query.
Generally, a SERP is made up of paid advertisements and free or organic results. But now you can also optimise your results to include images, maps, rich snippets, answer boxes, definitions, videos or suggested search refinements when the search engine thinks you’ve entered an incorrect search term. The primary goal of digital marketing is to optimise your website or content, and/or your digital advertisements so that you rank highest on the SERP in the paid and organic results.
