What is Chain Verification?

Adding or Creating New Locations After Google Business Profile Chain Verification

Once you've verified your Google Business Profile (GBP) chain, adding new locations becomes smoother and more streamlined. Here's how to do it.

🚨 Choose your method:

  1. Adding New Locations in Bulk : Google Business Profile Manager offers bulk location management tools for chain businesses. It's ideal if you have many new locations to add.
  2. Adding New Locations Individually : Creating individual listings within your  Google Business Profile Manager account might be easier if you only have a few new locations.

⚠️ Disclaimer: Chain verification requires primary ownership, as per Google guidelines. In cases where you don't currently own the listing, we can initiate a request for ownership, but please note that this process may involve a waiting period.

✏️ Adding New Locations in Bulk

  • To add new locations in bulk, choose “Import Businesses”.
  • You will be directed to a window showing templates for the bulk upload.

  • From the window, you can download the template and view the sample spreadsheet.
  • To learn more about creating a bulk upload spreadsheet for Business Profiles, view this Google support article.
  • Supply important information about your business and ensure the spreadsheet complies with the Google bulk upload spreadsheet.
  • Upload your file and wait for Google Support’s confirmation in your Google Business Account.
  • Monitor your email for any Google Support emails about the progress of your bulk verification. They will inform you of any changes, removals, and clarifications.
  • Once verified, you will receive another confirmation email, and your new locations will be added to your location group.

✏️ Adding New Locations Individually

  • To add new locations individually, choose “Add Single Business”.
  • Enter the new location's details in the form that will appear.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the listing creation process, including choosing categories and verifying the location.
  • Ensure that all required business information is added. Submit your form once it is done. You won't be receiving any confirmation emails by using this method.
  • Google will proceed to review your submission. The location status will show as "Processing" and may typically take 5-10 minutes to complete.

  • If the processing takes longer, you may proceed to submit a report here.
  • Monitor your listing until it gets verified.

💡 Tips

  • Prepare your data: Before adding new locations, ensure you have all the necessary details accurate and consistent, like addresses and phone numbers.
  • Use consistent naming conventions: Maintain a clear naming pattern for your chain locations to keep things organised and easily searchable.
  • Optimise your listings: Enhance your new location listings with high-quality photos, relevant descriptions, and accurate business hours.
  • Consider location groups: Utilise location groups within the Business Profile Manager to categorise and manage similar locations within your chain.

✨By following these steps, you can seamlessly add new locations to your Google Business Profile chain after completing the verification process. This will help your business gain better visibility and reach potential customers across various locations.
